  • 2025
  • Jamnalal Bajaj Award for Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India

Born: September 19, 1946

Sekacheva Lyudmila deeply connects with Mahatma Gandhi as her spiritual teacher and mentor, whose way of life, worldview and humanistic ideas are close to her heart and mind. Her mission is to serve people through her consistent and modest contributions through charitable activities, social projects and morally supporting activities for the socially vulnerable citizens, orphans & the disabled people.

In 2015, she created and headed the Regional Public Organization "BRICS. World of Traditions", Russia. Through various exhibitions and centers, Sekacheva Lyudmila is promoting and universalizing the beliefs of peace and non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi, Leo Tolstoy and other great thinkers in the BRICS countries. Along with the effective involvement of the youth, she strives to unite people through spirituality, by educating the younger generation, strengthening human health, and by developing trade and economic relations between BRICS.

As an author & organizer of the international social and educational project Great BRICS Teachers, she addresses the dire need of    propagating and implementing self-education programmes in the schools, colleges and universities of Russia and India.

Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of non-violence has become her moral document, which, like the flag of goodness and peace, Sekacheva Lyudmila humbly carries to the people.
