Born: May, 1898

Joined the freedom struggle. Founded Shri Gandhi Ashram for propagation and sale of Khadi. Post independence, entered Uttar Pradesh legislature and was a minister in the cabinet of three Chief Ministers in succession. But continued his commitment to Shri Gandhi Ashram. Handed over all his salary and pension amounts to the institution and drew his livelihood from it only.
