The Jamnalal Bajaj Awards 2005 were held on 4th November, 2005 at 5:00 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, in Mumbai. Prof. Amartya Sen (Nobel Laureate and Professor of Economics and Philosophy, Harvard University, USA) was the Chief Guest and awards were received by: Mr. P. Gopinath Nair (Constructive Work), Mr. Rajendra Singh (Application of Science & Technology for Rural Development), Ms. Arunaben Shankarprasad Desai (Development & Welfare of Women and Children) and Dr. Daisaku Ikeda (Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India).
