The Jamnalal Bajaj Awards 2000 were held on 3rd March, 2001 at 5:00 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, in Mumbai. Mr. Krishan Kant (Hon'ble Vice-President of India) was the Chief Guest and awards were received by: Mr. Som Dutt Vedalankar (Constructive Work), Mr. Bhaskar Hiraji Save (Application of Science & Technology for Rural Development), Ms. Vidya Devi (Development & Welfare of Women and Children) and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu (Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India).
