The Jamnalal Bajaj Awards 1998 were held on 6th November, 1998 at 5:00 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, in Mumbai. Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee (Hon'ble Prime Minister of India) was the Chief Guest and awards were received by: Acharya Ramamurti (Constructive Work), Dr. Devendra Kumar (Application of Science & Technology for Rural Development), Dr. Rajammal P. Devadas (Development & Welfare of Women and Children) and Ms. Jharna Dhara Chowdhury (Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India).
